Fourth day of 9 days Casablanca Marrakech imperial cities tour After breakfast and after having an idea of the Moroccan way of life, depart to Fes including a visit to the ancient roman ruins of Volubilis, the most remote former territory of the Roman Empire. Then we continue our way via one of the most green landscape of Morocco, to stop for a panoramic view of Sidi Chahed lake. Then hit the road to the cultural capital of Fes. Overnight in Fes.
Fifth day of 9 days Casablanca Marrakech imperial cities tour After breakfast you will be joined by an official local guide, who will show you the city and its historical monuments “Fes El Bali the old medina”, “ Al Qraouine University” “Jewish Quarter”…etc. Fes is the fourth largest city in Morocco and also used to serve as one of its former capitals during the reign ship of the Idrissis. You will enjoy walking its narrow streets and its huge ancient gates. The Medina of Fes, Fes el Bali is believed to be the largest car-free urban area in the world as the people of the Medina use only mules or small motorcycles to get merchandise inside the medina. Sixth day of 9 days Casablanca Marrakech imperial cities tour will start around 7am where you will begin to travel southeast to Merzouga, passing through multiple cities in the Middle Atlas mountain range. The first stop will be Ifran, referred to as "the Switzerland of Morocco", followed by Azrou and the famous cedar forest, where you might see some Barbary apes, then Errashidia, and finally on to Merzouga by way of Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you’ll experience picturesque scenery of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains. You will notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errashidia. We will stop for lunch and picture worthy panoramic views along the way. We will also drive through welcoming Berber villages such as Rissani, the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, which is the current ruling royal family of Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check-in to your riad. You will be able to relax for a short time before meeting the camels that will take us on an adventure in the sand dunes. We will then spend the night in an equipped camp/nomad tent with an enjoyable evening of listening to drums and music in the Sahara at sunset.
Wake up early to see the sunrise on the dunes of Merzouga; we return to the Auberge to have breakfast. Then we will drive through Arfoud Erissani, where you can visit the fossilized marble factory and palm groves and Touroug Tinjdad. Continue to the fabulous Todgha Gorges, where you can have your lunch. The itinerary continues to the Dades Gorges. Stay overnight at the Auberge.
Head back to the Dades Valley after breakfast to visit the Rose Valley, which celebrates the Festival of the Roses, and discover the beautiful architectures of Kasbah (Ksour) Province. Enjoy lunch in Kelaa M'Gouna and continue on the road to Skoura; visit the Valley. Arrive at Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay.
Depart after breakfast to the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where many movies were filmed, like the Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1980. Then we continue to Marrakech via the Tizi N'Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Conclude the journey with lunch once we reach Marrakech in the afternoon.
